- The “Magic Cue” (Magic Suggest) feature may soon be integrated into the Gboard app for Japanese language environments.
- Code related to the integration of “Magic Cue” in Japanese has been confirmed within the internal app code of the Android Gboard app version v16.4.3 update, released on Monday, January 12, 2026.
- Localization appears to be incomplete, as the feature is explicitly labeled as “Magic Cue” in the code.
The next-generation Google Pixel device “Pixel 10” series comes equipped with “Magic Cue,” an AI feature powered by the on-device AI model “Gemini Nano.”
Magic Cue is a feature that proactively presents necessary information via pop-up notifications based on the content of communications within apps such as Google Messages, Gmail, and the Google Phone app. While Magic Cue is already integrated into the Gboard app in English-speaking environments, it has not yet been integrated for Japanese language environments.
However, there is a possibility that Magic Cue will be integrated into Gboard for Japanese users in the future. We have confirmed that code regarding the Japanese integration of Magic Cue was added to the internal code of the Android Gboard app version v16.4.3 update, which was released on Monday, January 12, 2026.
<string name="...">Magic Cue により、画面上のアクティビティに基づいて必要な情報が表示されるため、ユーザーが自分で情報を探す必要はありません</string>
<string name="...">情報をすばやく見つける</string>
However, as you can see from the code, the localization is still incomplete, as it is explicitly written as “Magic Cue” rather than its localized Japanese name, “Magic Suggest.”
